Award-winning Ghanaian dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has sparked widespread discussion on social media after publicly detailing the financial support and property investments he says he has made for the mothers of his children.

The self-acclaimed Dancehall King, known for his outspoken personality and lavish lifestyle, disclosed that he has gone to great lengths to ensure that the women who gave birth to his children are financially secure and adequately catered for.

Speaking during a recent interaction that has since gone viral on social media, Shatta Wale revealed that he has purchased houses and vehicles for some of his baby mamas, insisting that he has always fulfilled his responsibilities as a father despite public perceptions to the contrary.

The musician is a father of three children with three different women. His first child, Cherissa, was born in July 2010 to his first known partner, popularly referred to as Madam Sandy.

His second child, Majesty, was born in July 2015 during his highly publicized relationship with socialite and entrepreneur Shatta Michy. His youngest child, Leandra, popularly known as Queen Money, was born in October 2024 with his current partner, Maali.

According to Shatta Wale, he has made conscious efforts over the years to provide housing and transportation for the mothers of his children as part of his commitment to their welfare and that of his children.

The musician specifically disclosed that he purchased a house valued at approximately $65,000 for his former partner, Shatta Michy. In addition to the property, he said he also bought a vehicle for her to facilitate her daily activities.

He further revealed that his first baby mama has also benefited significantly from his support, claiming that she currently owns two vehicles through his assistance and that he is in the process of constructing another house for her.

“All of them, I have been able to sort them out. Shatta Michy can’t say that I have not given her $65,000 to buy a house that I saw. I bought her a car. My first baby mama has two cars. I’m trying to build her another house so she stays there. It’s her house. The properties are in their names. It is theirs, so they can do whatever they want with them,” he stated.

The disclosure, however, left many observers questioning whether similar arrangements had been made for his current partner, Maali, who is the mother of his youngest child. Shatta Wale did not indicate during the interview whether he has acquired any property or assets for her.

His comments quickly generated intense reactions across social media platforms, with users expressing mixed opinions about both the claims and the amounts involved.

While some praised the musician for taking responsibility and ensuring that the mothers of his children are comfortable, others questioned the figures mentioned and whether such disclosures were necessary in the public domain.

Several critics also revisited previous controversies involving Shatta Wale and Shatta Michy, particularly disagreements over child support and educational expenses for their son, Majesty.

Others argued that if the properties were genuinely acquired for the women and registered in their names, there was no need to publicly announce such gestures.

The discussion has once again brought attention to the complex relationship between celebrities and public scrutiny, especially when issues involving family, finances and personal responsibilities become part of public conversation.

Over the years, Shatta Wale and Shatta Michy’s relationship has remained one of the most talked-about celebrity unions in Ghana.

The pair enjoyed a highly publicized romance before eventually parting ways amid reports of irreconcilable differences. Since their separation, both have repeatedly made headlines over issues relating to co-parenting and their son’s welfare.
