U.S. President Donald Trump has once again reignited a cultural and political feud with American music icon Taylor Swift, this time accusing the pop star of losing her appeal following her continued political opposition to him.
The controversial remarks, made on his Truth Social platform, mark yet another chapter in a long-standing one-sided grudge the president appears to have maintained since 2020.
While returning from a diplomatic mission to the Middle East, Trump posted: “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT’?” This comes months after Swift publicly endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, Trump’s main opponent in the 2024 election.
Last September, Trump responded to that endorsement with an unusually blunt post: “I hate Taylor Swift.”
Swift, the highest-earning female artist globally and a powerful cultural figure, has largely ignored Trump’s repeated jabs.
Her political engagement has increased since the 2018 midterms, and she notably broke her silence on politics in 2020 to support Joe Biden’s presidential bid, much to the dismay of the Republican establishment.
Trump’s disdain for Swift appears to extend beyond her politics. His recent comments suggest personal resentment, despite her not having mentioned him publicly in recent years.
Swift continues to be celebrated for her record-breaking “Eras Tour” and remains a significant influence in the entertainment industry, challenging Trump’s assertion that her popularity is waning.
But Taylor Swift wasn’t Trump’s only target. He also unleashed a vitriolic tirade against Bruce Springsteen, following the rock legend’s critical remarks during a concert in Manchester, UK, as part of his Land of Hope and Dreams tour.
Without naming Trump directly, Springsteen denounced what he called a “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous administration,” and urged fans to stand up for democracy.
In response, Trump lashed out on social media: “Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States… Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics.”
He went further, calling Springsteen a “dried out prune,” “dumb as a rock,” and a “pushy, obnoxious JERK,” claiming the artist was blind to the damage caused by “Crooked Joe Biden.”
This isn’t the first time Trump has turned his ire toward cultural icons.
Throughout his political career, he has feuded with athletes, actors, musicians, and media personalities—many of whom have been outspoken critics of his administration.
His attacks often reflect a broader strategy of framing popular cultural figures as enemies of his vision for America, rallying his base around a narrative of traditional values under siege.
