The bitter succession battle within the family of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka has taken yet another dramatic twist after controversial spiritual leader Prophet Bishop Kwabena Asiamah, popularly known as Ajagurajah, claimed the late founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission appeared to him in a dream and revealed who should rightfully lead the church.
The latest claim comes barely days after the contentious funeral and burial of Apostle Kwadwo Safo, which was overshadowed by court proceedings, public disagreements and a bitter feud between his children over the custody of his mortal remains, the implementation of his last will and testament, and the leadership of the Kristo Asafo Mission.
Ajagurajah’s account, which he presented as a personal spiritual revelation, has reignited public debate over the future leadership of one of the most influential indigenous religious movements and is expected to further intensify the already fragile relationship between former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo and her brother, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I.
Fresh Claim Amid Leadership Dispute
Speaking publicly after the funeral, Ajagurajah claimed that Apostle Kwadwo Safo appeared to him in a dream and delivered what he described as a significant message concerning both the burial and succession of the Kristo Asafo Mission.
According to him, the late Apostle had instructed both Sarah Adwoa Safo and Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena to bury him after his death.
Ajagurajah further claimed that the dream carried a deeper spiritual meaning.
He alleged that Apostle Kwadwo Safo revealed to him that the individual who ultimately buried him should be regarded as the anointed person to succeed him as leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission.
The prophet’s remarks represent his personal account of an alleged dream and have not been independently verified.
Message Directed at Akofena
Ajagurajah went further by directing his comments at Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, who has consistently maintained that he is the legitimate successor to his late father under the provisions of Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s Last Will and Testament.
According to Ajagurajah, if Akofena believed he had been entrusted with leadership of the family and the church but was unable to organise or carry out his father’s burial, then that failure carried significant implications.
The spiritual leader suggested that the circumstances surrounding the burial were not accidental but formed part of what he described as a deliberate spiritual arrangement.
Those comments have added a fresh dimension to the already heated succession debate within the Kantanka family.
Months of Family Conflict
The latest development follows several months of escalating disagreements within the family after Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s death in September 2025.
The conflict centred on the interpretation of his Last Will and Testament, the custody of his remains, administration of his estate and authority to organise his funeral.
Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, who was installed as leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission earlier this year, argued that his father’s will designated him as the lawful custodian responsible for implementing the late Apostle’s final wishes.
Sarah Adwoa Safo, however, maintained that she had been personally entrusted by her father with responsibilities concerning his funeral and insisted that she was honouring those wishes by organising the burial.
The disagreement resulted in failed mediation efforts, legal proceedings, public exchanges and an interim injunction before the funeral eventually went ahead amid controversy.
Ajagurajah’s Earlier Prophecies
This is not the first time Ajagurajah has publicly commented on the affairs of the Kantanka family.
According to the report, the spiritual leader has repeatedly claimed to have received revelations concerning Apostle Kwadwo Safo and developments within his family since the respected inventor’s passing.
In October 2025, Ajagurajah reportedly warned that Apostle Kwadwo Safo was unhappy in the spiritual realm and urged members of the family to settle their differences peacefully.
Following the shooting incident involving Sarah Adwoa Safo in June 2026, an earlier prophecy attributed to Ajagurajah resurfaced in which he allegedly claimed that Apostle Kwadwo Safo had warned that another tragedy could occur if the family failed to reconcile.
He also previously claimed that the late Apostle referred to Sarah Adwoa Safo as the “queen of his empire” and instructed her to ensure that family matters were handled properly.
These statements are reported as claims attributed to Ajagurajah and have not been independently verified.
Succession Question Remains Unresolved
Despite the funeral having taken place, the broader dispute over leadership of the Kristo Asafo Mission remains unresolved.
The family continues to face legal questions relating to the implementation of Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s Last Will and Testament, while differing interpretations of succession have continued to divide sections of the family and the church.
