The thriving comedy industry took centre stage over the weekend as the 2026 Ghana Comedy Awards honoured the country’s finest comedians, comic actors, writers, content creators and entertainers, with Aka Ebenezer emerging as the biggest winner after sweeping the night’s most prestigious honours.
Held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, the annual awards ceremony celebrated outstanding achievements in the rapidly growing comedy industry, recognising performers who have entertained audiences through stand-up comedy, theatre, television, radio, digital platforms and live performances over the past year.
The biggest headline of the night belonged to Aka Ebenezer, who cemented his place among leading comedy stars by winning the coveted Comedian of the Year award. He also secured Comic Actor of the Year, making him the night’s biggest individual winner and reinforcing his growing influence within Ghana’s entertainment industry.
