Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has been forced to publicly confirm that she is alive and well after false reports claiming that she had died in a horrific accident began circulating across social media.

The alarming reports surfaced online on Sunday, September 6, 2026, with some social-media accounts allegedly presenting the unverified claim as breaking news.

The reports quickly attracted the attention of Kadiri’s fans, many of whom became concerned after coming across posts announcing the actress’ supposed death.

The situation took another turn when the rumour began spreading beyond its original posts, creating the impression among some users that the actress had genuinely been involved in an accident. Kadiri eventually stepped in to stop the speculation herself.

Taking to Instagram, the actress released a video in which she directly addressed the reports and reassured her followers that she had neither died nor been involved in an accident.

“Please note that I am alive. I did not have any accident, and I am safe,” she said.
Her intervention immediately contradicted the reports and provided relief to fans who had been worried about her welfare.

Rather than simply dismissing the reports and moving on, however, Kadiri urged her followers to actively report the social-media accounts and posts responsible for spreading the misinformation.
